I 90 through south dakota

I'm on my way again from B.C. Canada to Ohio. And every time I drive through South Dakota I notice that mile post 69 east and west is missing. Does South Dakota have somebody working for them with a sick mind???? Or does the number 69 not exist in South Dakota, just, only in the rest of the world. mm mm

Example: On my 23B, I was on the road and stopped at a Jayco dealer to have the water pump looked at. When the pump switch was on, the pump would run every 8 minutes. The dealer verified this and replaced the pump after checking with Jayco. On my 28RLS, I had a fitting leaking on the water heater. Jayco told the dealer to put pressure at 40 psi to see if it leaked at this standard pressure. The leak appeared at 20 psi, Jayco authorized a new water heater. Took a couple of weeks to get the heater in. For some other problems, the service manager has taken pictures and sent them to Jayco for verification of a problem. Jayco has okayed any work requested. So, the important thing seems to be that the problem be duplicated at the dealership. They have to have proof in order to get reimbursed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GeneKiwi 2006 Silverado 2500HD 2005 Scion XB (the lunchbox) 2007 Jayco Jay Flight 28RLS __________________________________________________________________________ Is Jayco implying there dealers don't lie!! RE: Newbies still researching: Chevy, Dodge or Ford?

Being the owner of a 2006 Pleasure way class B motor home, the pleasure we have is in the coach part. The Sprinter part not so much. Compared to Ford and Chev. the sprinter new cost's $15-20k more, they lose there value faster, they cost far more to maintain, on the road you may have to drive hundreds of miles for a dealer, they get 20 mpg (diesel) Chev. 15 mpg (gas) but gas is about $0.80 per gallon cheaper than diesel. they Handel and look better than Chev or Ford

RE: New B------has anyone checked out the "krystal"

Looks like a Sprinter van from the cockpit, if it is a Sprinter stay clear of it. until the bugs have been worked out. My Sprinter has cost me $23,000 in towing, maintenance and repairs in 50,000 miles, not cheap.

RE: Insulating under dash

you can get insulation pads at commercial truck dealers, like what is on the underside of your hood of you car. This is a foil backed insulation that is fire resistant hope this helps. regards

RE: Where to Overnight Along the Way (with dogs)

When we travel, we download and print up all the flyingj.com truck stops. This gives us there location and fuel prices, you can do the same with a number of other brand name truck stops like pilot or T/A. MOST truck stop cater to RV's, and you can spend the night in a RV parking lot or with the trucks. Most Flyingj's have a dump station's, some T/A's do. Have fun.

RE: WHAT am I doing WRONG?

Check the date of mfg. Than do what I did see what brand of tires UPS uses. They have the money to do research, you and I don't have. BTW they use Goodyear.

RE: 80% Rule Question

Boy I can remember driving for summer jobs when I was in college. My truck was a 1957 Mac 6 cylinder 250 HP with 500 rpm power range hauling 2 trailers @130k lbs over 2 lane roads and hills and valleys, through every town, traffic light and stop sign's, and the only air on it was for brakes. And your asking if a 350 hp what ever, can haul a 15000 lbs trailer down the supper modern 4 lane with out being overloaded? I know the engine could not be, that's why God made gears.

RE: Expected mpg for Roadtrek RS Adventurous?

my 2006 Sprinter 158" motor home, with over 45000 miles average mpg is 19.1. The average per tank, changes with speed, wind, and hills. But the total equals to 19.1. I'm not impressed by cost per mile with maintenance for a Sprinter.

RE: Truck Stop Service

all TA truck stops are Freightliner dealers. One could also go to a Speedco. There like 10 min oil change place for trucks, they can even test oils for you. they usually have all filters for Cat or Cummings engine in stock, with all brands of oil. There very professional because that's all they do.

RE: Tire ProblemsClass A Motorhome

I can't afford to make a tire study as to what's best. But UPS can and have. I put on the same brand there trucks have Goodyear . In 18 years of driving a motor home over 200k miles not even a flat tire.

RE: Visa

you must have passport to BACK into the USA. Canada has no requirements other than proof of us residency, in other words a green card or a USA birth certificate, with a drivers licence. But because Canada does not want to get stuck with you in case you can't go back, they will ask you for a passport. No visa is needed. If you are driving out and in of the USA a passport is presently still not needed only if you are flying.

RE: Good Sam ERS

STRACOS... Bill Luke Chrysler, in Phoenix, Az. When I called for service said to me that I would have to leave the Pleasure-way camper there, find a motel room rent a car for up to 10 day's while my vehicle was being serviced. It's a matter what name plate on the vehicle, Dodge or Freightliner. I'm not trying to put fear in to other buyers, I'm trying to say, this is not a vehicle with out fault, but by my experience break down very often compared to other vehicles I now own or have owned, and service or parts are not always available where you break down.

RE: Installing LPG generator in 5er

Just remember that a LPG generator uses a lot of LPG. And it is not always available. And a gas or diesel generator would be a lot cheaper to operate with less problems. Do some research what would be better for you. but Yes you can use the same tank with proper sized regulator valve.

RE: Good Sam ERS

I'm in the same boat as you. When purchased my Sprinter I did not realize that service would be so far and few in between. We broke down in Yuma, AZ. and we where able to limp to San Bernardina, Ca. for service, 350 miles took 10 hrs. A 2 day wait until the dealer could get to the van for service as other where ahead of us. The part was $34.00 ( the 3rd intake air temp. sensor) the diagnostic fee $89.00 1 hr labour $120.00, from the time the van was driven in for service to when it was driven out of the shop, about 45 min, for $200 + in labour.(My dentist does not charge this kind of hourly rate) I now feel I should have got a Chev. anybody can work on it, probably closer to where I'm at and cheaper, and less often
